Jesus Teaches the People

The Beatitudes

5 When Jesus saw the crowds of people there, he went up on a hill and sat down. His followers came and sat next to him. 2 Then Jesus began teaching the people. He said,

3 "Great blessings belong to those who know they are spiritually in need.[a]
God’s kingdom belongs to them.
4 Great blessings belong to those who are sad now.
God will comfort them.
5 Great blessings belong to those who are humble.
They will be given the land God promised.[b]
6 Great blessings belong to those who want to do right more than anything else.[c]
God will fully satisfy them.
7 Great blessings belong to those who show mercy to others.
Mercy will be given to them.
8 Great blessings belong to those whose thoughts are pure.
They will be with God.
9 Great blessings belong to those who work to bring peace.
God will call them his sons and daughters.
10 Great blessings belong to those who suffer persecution for doing what is right.
God’s kingdom belongs to them.

11 "People will insult you and hurt you. They will lie and say all kinds of evil things about you because you follow me. But when they do that, know that great blessings belong to you. 12 Be happy about it. Be very glad because you have a great reward waiting for you in heaven. People did these same bad things to the prophets who lived before you.

 

Las Bienaventuranzas

5 Cuando Jesús vio a tanta gente, subió a una montaña y se sentó.[a] Los discípulos se le acercaron, 2 y él comenzó a enseñarles:

3 «Dios bendice a los que confían
totalmente en él,
pues ellos forman parte de su reino.
4 Dios bendice a los que sufren,
pues él los consolará.
5 Dios bendice a los humildes,
pues ellos recibirán la tierra prometida.
6 Dios bendice a los que desean la justicia,
pues él les cumplirá su deseo.
7 Dios bendice a los que son compasivos,
pues él será compasivo con ellos.
8 Dios bendice a los que tienen
un corazón puro,
pues ellos verán a Dios.
9 Dios bendice a los que trabajan
para que haya paz en el mundo,
pues ellos serán llamados hijos de Dios.
10 Dios bendice a los que son maltratados
por practicar la justicia,
pues ellos forman parte de su reino.

11-12 »Dios los bendecirá a ustedes cuando, por causa mía, la gente los maltrate y diga mentiras contra ustedes. ¡Alégrense! ¡Pónganse contentos! Porque van a recibir un gran premio en el cielo. Así maltrataron también a los profetas que vivieron antes que ustedes.

1 Kad Viņš ļaužu pulku redzēja, Viņš uzkāpa kalnā un nosēdās, un Viņa mācekļi sapulcējās pie Viņa.
2 Savu muti atdarījis, Viņš tos mācīja, sacīdams:
3 "Svētīgi garā nabagi, jo tiem pieder Debesu valstība.
4 Svētīgi tie, kam bēdas, jo tie tiks iepriecināti.
5 Svētīgi lēnprātīgie, jo tie iemantos zemi.
6 Svētīgi izsalkušie un izslāpušie pēc taisnības, jo tie tiks paēdināti.
7 Svētīgi žēlsirdīgie, jo tie dabūs žēlastību.
8 Svētīgi sirdsšķīstie, jo tie Dievu redzēs.
9 Svētīgi miera nesēji, jo tie tiks saukti par Dieva bērniem.
10 Svētīgi taisnības dēļ vajātie, jo tiem pieder Debesu valstība.
11 Svētīgi jūs esat, ja jūs lamā un vajā un ar meliem par jums runā visu ļaunu Manis dēļ.
12 Esiet priecīgi un līksmi, jo jūsu alga ir liela debesīs, jo tā tie vajājuši praviešus, kas pirms jums bija.
